  European Economic and Social Committee gathers key EU players in the struggle against violence against women

  [Brussels, 21 September 2012] On 21 September, the European Economic and Social Committee ’(EESC) organised a conference on the issue of one of its latest opinion, ‘Eradicating domestic violence’. Speakers from the EU institutions and agencies were invited to present their work. The European Women’s Lobby (EWL) was also there to highlight its recommendations towards a Europe free from all forms of violence against women.

  Violence against women with disabilities - concrete EU action needed now!

  [Brussels, 04 April 2012] On 28 March, the European Disability Forum (EDF) organised a conference in the European Parliament to raise political awareness on violence against women and girls with disabilities, and call for concrete and urgent EU action to end this unacceptable phenomenon.

  [Brussels, 29 March 2012] As the European Commission is reflecting on a possible European-wide awareness-raising campaign to end violence against women in Europe, the European Women’s Lobby has identified the key conditions for an effective campaign.

  EWL organises Regional Meeting with UN Special Rapporteur on Violence against Women

  [Brussels, 21 June 2011] On 17 June 2011, the European Women’s Lobby had the honour of organising a regional consultation meeting with Ms Rashida Manjoo, UN Special Rapporteur on Violence against Women.
