Bettina Pfleiderer, Vice President
Bettina Pfleiderer is Vice President of the European Women’s Lobby since 2021. She has been a member of the EWL board since 2018, representing the Medical Women’s International association (MWIA). She was elected to the EWL Executive Committee in 2021. She had been MWIA president from 2016-2019 and sits currently on the MWIA Executive committee as chair of the finance committee. She is a physician and works as Professor at the clinics of Radiology at the University hospital Münster in Germany and is head of the research group on "cognition & gender". She teaches gendered domestic violence and sex and gender sensitive medicine at the Münster medical faculty. Her main research fields of interests are inclusion of sex, gender and diversity aspects into medicine, human rights issues, global health, violence against women and children, female leadership, intercultural communication, female empowerment and brain research. She holds a PhD (Dr.rer.nat.) in chemistry from the University of Tübingen (Germany) and a MD (Dr.med.) in medicine from the University of Münster (Germany).
