    EWL says public procurement rules should support aim of more equal society

    [Brussels, 20 April 2011] The EWL has submitted its contribution to the European Commission’s Green Paper on the modernisation of EU public procurement policy, entitled “Towards a more efficient European Procurement Market”.
    The EWL strongly believes that European public procurement rules should be renewed so that they can support the achievement of overall societal goals, in particular the promotion of fundamental rights and of social inclusion, including equality between women and men. (...) Read more

    [Brussels, 15 April 2011] The European Women’s Lobby is delighted to announce the appointment today of Cécile Gréboval as its new Secretary General, with immediate effect.
    An internal candidate, Cécile brings to the post more than 15 years of experience within the EWL Secretariat in a variety of positions, and has already twice served as Interim Secretary General of the organisation.

    [Brussels, 14 April 2011] The current Trio EU Presidency and Poland have committed to promoting reconciliation of work and family life and have acknowledged that gender equality is an essential factor of reconciliation policies, but make few concrete commitments.

    [Brussels, 08 April 2011] The EWL is delighted to announce the success of its lobbying campaign ’Towards a Strong Convention on All Forms of Male Violence against Women’ with the adoption of the Convention on 07 April.
