Jessica Nguyen joined the European Women’s Lobby in September 2019 as an Intern with the Policy and Campaigns Hub, working specifically on gender budgeting and women’s socioeconomic independence. She recently completed a traineeship with the International Federation for Human Rights (FIDH) and worked on rule of law issues across Europe, women’s sexual and reproductive health and rights, and women’s civil society. Originally from Australia, she holds a Masters in Human Rights Law and Policy, and has worked predominantly on migration issues, including the Royal Commission on Child Sexual Abuse where she project managed the delivery of the final report and drafted content on children in immigration detention. She previously interned with UN Women’s Regional Office in Bangkok where she conducted research on international human rights treaties relating to women’s rights across Southeast Asia and assisted in the #HeForShe campaign which aimed to raise awareness about combatting violence against women with young boys.
