Laura Albu

Laura Albu has been a member of EWL’s Executive Committee since June 2014, when she joined the Board of EWL, representing the Romanian Women’s Lobby, EWL’s National Coordination in Romania. In Romania, she has been the CEO of Community Safety and Mediation Center (CMSC) since 2000, where she has been coordinating over 25 programmes related to social services including on domestic violence, child abuse and vulnerable victims. For over 15 years, she has been working to promote the new legislation in the field of violence against women in Romania and conflict resolution. She is one of the founders of the Romanian Women’s Lobby, and its President since 2015. She also represents the EWL in the Expert Forum of European Institute for Gender Equality (EIGE). As a women’s rights activist, she is deeply committed to gender equality and respect for diversity.
