ROLE PURPOSE
As a Programme Officer, you will play a central role in the implementation and coordination of EWL programmes, with a particular focus on the regranting scheme.
The position ensures effective grant management, close collaboration with member organisations, and high-quality delivery, monitoring, and reporting of funded projects that advance women’s rights and gender equality across Europe.
KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead the Regranting roject
- Manage the full regranting cycle: calls for proposals, outreach, information sessions, application management, and support to evaluation and selection processes.
- Act as the main contact point for applicants and EWL member organisations.
- Draft, administer, and monitor grant agreements.
- Oversee grantee implementation, including narrative and financial reporting.
- Identify risks and propose capacity-building support where needed.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records for accountability and donor reporting.
- Contribute to organisational learning, visibility, and knowledge-sharing.
Financial, administrative and operational support
- Support budget reviews and financial documentation with the finance team.
- Prepare contracts and manage related administrative procedures.
- Guide grantees on financial reporting and compliance requirements.
- Liaise with external consultants and service providers.
- Maintain internal databases and document management systems.
- Provide administrative support for smooth project implementation.
- Collaborate across Secretariat portfolios to ensure coherence and impact.
Funding knowledge and expertise
- Contribute to European Commission funding applications and reporting.
- Support the management of a diversified funding portfolio (institutional, private, corporate, foundations, individual donors).
QUALIFICATIONS
- University degree in a relevant field (e.g. business administration, economics, finance, social sciences, European studies, international relations, gender studies, development studies).
- Minimum four years’ professional experience in programme/project or grant management.
- Proven experience with European Commission funding.
- Strong understanding of grant-making and regranting processes.
- Experience in financial management and budget review.
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Excellent written and spoken English; other European languages are an asset.
- Strong commitment to feminist values, gender equality, and EWL’s mission.
