On the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, the Swedish Women’s Lobby will hold a talk about rape.
The event will start with a screening of the short film “Porn Damaged” by Roxane von Gerber Hedayat and Moa Kjellstrand.
This is followed by a panel discussion about rape culture, sexism and how Sweden’s ratification of the Istanbul Convention can be used in the fight against rape.
When: 25th of November 16.30-18.00.
Venue: Zita Folkets Bio (cinema), seating for 150 persons.
Panel participants: Lena Olsson, member of the committee on justice, Carina Hägg, member of the Committee on Foreign Affairs (tbc), Roxane von Gerber Hedayat, film maker, Ida Östensson, activist from the NGO Crossing Borders and front figure in a campaign against rape: FATTA, Jenny Westerstrand, researcher on men’s violence against women, Uppsala University, My Vingren, journalist.
Others invited to the event: Relevant politicians, researchers, authorities, NGO:s, women’s rights organisations etc.
