Dr. Lara Dimitrijevic
Dr. Lara Dimitrijevic is a Founding Partner at Sciberras Associates, a Maltese law firm that offers its clients a multidisciplinary and gender sensitive legal service, rooted in a precise understanding of the legal system and a commitment to excellence.
Dr Lara Dimitrijevic graduated as Doctor of Laws in December 2008 and has specialised in the field of family law and human rights, with particularinterest to issues related to domestic violence and intimate partner violence, human trafficking, sexual abuse, sexual and reproductive rights and human rights.
Dr. Dimitrijevic specializes primarily in family law and has worked extensively on immigration cases.
She has acted as a visiting lecturer and examiner at the Faculty of Laws, University of Malta lecturing gender and law.
Dimitrijevic is founder of Women’s Rights Foundation and has been actively advocating for women’s rights.
Dimitrijevic has spearheaded a number of human rights cases dealing with discrimination against women. She has been representative on the European Women’s Lobby ‘Observatory of Violence against Women’ on behalf of Malta Confederation of Women Organisations, a delegate to Women Against Violence Europe, a member of the Commission on GenderBased Violence and Domestic violence (Malta), as well as a national expert for gender rights.
