Magdalena Kurz joined the European Women’s Lobby in September 2022 as Membership and Governance Coordinator, organizing the work of the EWL’s governing bodies and coordinating the Members’ Development.
Before joining EWL she provided independent counselling and consulting in work psychology, focusing on the prevention of psychosocial risks for women at work. Prior to that she was active for Youth Rights as a Policy Officer at the European Youth Forum. During this time, she has been Co-executive Manager of the European Alliance for Volunteering. Further, Magdalena was part of the team in the UN Information Service and the OSCE Press and Public Information Service. She has been active as Research Officer for European and transnational projects for different Universities.
Magdalena holds an Advanced Interdisciplinary Master’s on Risk Management and Well-being at Work from the Free University of Brussels (ULB), a MA in Political Science from the University of Vienna, and a Diploma in Human Rights from UC Berkeley.
As oldest of five girls she was raised in a sisterhood. It was women around her that acted as guides and the exchange in formal and informal women networks like “Leadarise” and mentoring structures such as “Genderize” that encouraged her to continue this journey, publishing the “Guidebook for Mentoring Young Women in Europe”. In her free time, she likes to make music, paint, cook, jog and spend time in nature with family and friends.
