[Brussels, 9 May 2014] On Europe Day, Top Candidate Ska Keller sent a video message to the European Women’s Lobby (EWL) to express her commitment to women’s rights and gender equality. "We have to make sure that the new European Parliament will keep up the struggle for women’s rights and gender equality", she says.
She highlights some key issues, such as equal pay, the right of women and girls to control their own body, to go out to the public and to hold the same positions as men. "The struggle is not finished yet, and the Greens are on your side!"
See below the video message of Ska Keller.
Ska Keller is the fourth Top Candidate to the Presidency of the EU to answer to the call of the EWL about Top Candidates’ commitment to gender equality. You can find here the reactions of Mr Schulz, Mr Verhofstadt and Mr Juncker. More than 50 candidates have already endorsed EWL manifesto "Act now for her future, commit to gender equality!".
