EWL Briefing ‘Trafficking in human beings in the EU: a gendered issue’

Please find here an EWL Briefing ‘Trafficking in human beings in the EU: a gendered issue’. The briefing has been compiled in October 2011, at the occasion of the EWL-UN Women-UNRIC event on trafficking for sexual exploitation on 27 October in Brussels.

The goal of the briefing is to present EWL’s position with regards to the issue of trafficking and ensure that the phenomenon is understood as a gendered issue which needs a systematic gender perspective in all policies aiming at tacking it.

Would you have any complementary example of cases of trafficking with a clear and strong gender perspective, please don’t hesitate to share with Pierrette (pape@womenlobby.org), as the briefing is here to be used as a tool. We also invite you to use it whenever you meet partners/decision-makers on the issue of trafficking and violence against women.
