(Brussels, 25 April 2013) The European Social Platform is the alliance of representative European federations and networks of non-governmental organisations active in the social sector.
The Social Platform and its members are committed to the advancement of the principles of equality, solidarity, non discrimination and the promotion and respect of fundamental rights for all within Europe and in particular the European Union.
EWL former President Brigitte Triems is a veteran in gender and equality issues, being a member of the EIGE expert network, past President of the European Women’s Lobby, chairwoman of the Democratic Women’s Union and the managing director of a non-profit employment and qualification company in Berlin. She has experience as a member of the Board and more recently as the vice-chairwoman of the National Council of German Women’s Organisations as well as earlier experience in Women’s International Democratic Federation. We wish her all the very best with this next challenge with the European Social Platform.
