One Billion Rising in Budapest!

[Brussels, 08 February 2013] The Hungarian Women’s Lobby and its member associations, activists and volunteers are organizing the event “One Billion Rising Budapest”: joining a worldwide campaign, they participate to draw attention to violence against women and girls through dancing.

Supporters of the campaign who will also join the Budapest event are Yvette Bozsik (dance artist), János Kulka (actor), Krisztina Bombera, Kata Jaksity, András Kepes and Dénes Pál (winner of “The Voice Hungary”), who have expressed their protest against violence in a video message.

On 14th February, the organizers, the supporters and anybody who wants to join them will start a large-scale flashmob in support of the one billion women who are victims of violence.

The dance that will take place on 14 February at 15:00 on the ground floor of Mammut 2 Shopping and Entertainment Center.

Events are scheduled later in the evening:
at 20:00, at Pepita Ofélia (5 Klauzál Square, 7th Distr., Budapest), actresses will read passages from Eve Ensler’s book “I Am an Emotional Creature: The Secret Life of Girls Around the World”.
At 22:00, Mrs. Columbo women’s band will performe.
