Public Event: Making Europe work for women (Registration Closed)

[Brussels, 10 May 2019] As part of our European Women’s Forum, EWL’s annual gathering of over 100 feminist activists and members from all over Europe, we are hosting our flagship public event on Making Europe Work for Women on 6 June 2019 at 17.30. Less than two weeks after the European elections, we will gather to assess the results and their consequences for all women across Europe. We are bringing together women’s rights activists, decision-makers, elected politicians and citizens to strategise on how to put women’s rights at the centre of the European project making sure that the European Union commits to achieve equality between women and men.

During the event we will discuss the importance of parity in all European institutions, our main demand from our 50/50 campaign, and expand on what the European Union can do for women in the next 5 years and forward. The event will also be the occasion to hear stories and ideas from the audience, leaving us energised, hopeful and ready to mobilise for what comes next. This reflection will be the beginning of a larger process of strategising for a Feminist Europe that we will be conducting with our members during our annual European Women’s Forum taking place in Brussels from 6 to 9 June in Brussels, which gathers over 100 women’s rights activists from across Europe for four days of strategising and mobilising for all women’s rights.

The event will be in English and French. Interpretation in French and English will be available but you need to bring your ID card or passport to access this.

We look forward to seeing you on 6 June for an impressive feminist line-up, lively debate and an informal drink afterwards!
