WHO ARE WE?
The European Women’s Lobby is the largest European umbrella network of women’s associations in Europe, representing the diversity of women and girls. Currently, the EWL has 30 national coordination organisations in countries within the EU, candidate countries, former EU Member States and the European Free Trade Association, as well as 17 European-wide members, representing more than 2,000 women’s organisations in Europe.
Together with our members, we campaign for a feminist Europe that promotes women’s rights and equality between women and men. The EWL envisions a society in which women’s contribution to all aspects of life is recognised, rewarded and celebrated in leadership, care and production; where all women have self-confidence, freedom of choice, and freedom from violence and exploitation; and no woman or girl is left behind.
WHAT IS AGORA?
AGORA is the EWL’s young feminists’ summer school that brings young feminists from all over Europe to Brussels for a 5-day gathering to discuss and explore all issues related to feminism for young women today and learn from each other in preparation for future feminist leaders.
Established in 2015, AGORA celebrated its 10th anniversary last year, marking a decade of engagement with young women aged 18-30 across Europe and a growing alumnae network of around 290 participants. The overall theme of AGORA is violence against women and girls, with overarching topics and workshops organised throughout the week.
AGORA 2026 will take place from 7-11 September 2026, and we are now seeking two Facilitators to help enrich this programme! We encourage those who already work together to apply for this opportunity as a pair, but this is not a necessary requirement.
Testimonials from AGORA 2025 Participants: “I will leave AGORA feeling and cherishing this feminine solidarity in my heart, and I will have an even clearer feminist perspective and goal in my mind. It has been a dream of two years to participate in AGORA, and all this waiting was worth it.”
“For five days, I shared thoughts, fears, laughter, and tears with incredible women from all around Europe. In each of them, I saw a little reflection of myself, and together we created a space to learn from one another and to unite our hopes and our commitment to continue striving for a world that is more just, equal and inclusive.”

WHAT ARE THE TASKS OF A FACILITATOR?
- Programme Planning: Contribute to the content structure and activities for the 5-day AGORA, setting clear goals, identifying methodologies for achieving them and creating a safe learning environment for all participants. Provide suggestions for the preparation phase in collaboration with EWL staff.
- Online Meetings: Participate actively in 4 online planning meetings between June and September with the EWL AGORA Team, as well as a final debriefing and evaluation meeting.
- Moderation and Support: Communicate clearly with the other facilitator and work towards evenly distributed support in moderating sessions and creating a safe, inclusive environment for all participants.
- Facilitating the Event: Facilitate the entire programme from 7 to 11 September in Brussels, using non-formal learning methods to ensure a safe and engaging space and reach participants’ learning goals.
- AGORA Report: Draft a high-quality AGORA report no later than 14 days after the closing of the event, presenting the key conclusions and providing insights for future editions of the programme. As the report will be published, it must be well-structured, clear, engaging, and compliant with GDPR and EWL values. The facilitators are required to submit the completed report to EWL within this timeframe. The AGORA Report will remain the property of EWL. By producing the report, the facilitators agree that all rights, including publication and use, belong exclusively to EWL.
Selection Criteria:
- Demonstrated experience in facilitating workshops, trainings, or group processes, preferably using non-formal education methods.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of feminist issues, in particular violence against women and girls.
- Experience working with young people (18-30) and/or in international and intercultural environments.
- Ability to create and maintain a safe, inclusive, and participatory learning space.
- Excellent communication, moderation, and teamwork skills, including the ability to collaborate closely with another facilitator and EWL staff.
- Availability and commitment to participate in the preparatory meetings, facilitate the full AGORA programme (7-11 September 2026), and deliver the final AGORA report within the required timeframe.
FINANCIAL CONTRIBUTION
A financial contribution of €8000 (VAT included) is allocated for the facilitation team, comprising two facilitators (€4000 each). This amount covers preparation, delivery of the sessions, and any follow-up work, such as the final report. We will also provide accommodation and food during the AGORA, but we are unable to cover transportation costs. A contract will be drawn up with the selected facilitators to outline the scope of work, expected deliverables, timelines, and payment terms.
