[Brussels, 12 August 2013]
Dear all,
As you may know, the Open Call for Proposals for Action Grants JUST/2013/PROG/AG/GE “Support to civil society and other stakeholders aiming at promoting equality between women and men” is open.
The L&R Social Research – Institute for Social Research in Vienna plans to submit a proposal on the gender pay gap that focuses on the trade unions as important actors, with the title:
“Gender Pay Gap: New solutions for an old problem.
Developing transnational strategies together with trade unions and gender equality units to tackle the gender pay gap”.
The Institute has a long-term experience in gender equality topics in Austrian and European context. They have worked together in several projects in this field and are national experts for ENEGE (European Network of Experts on Gender Equality).
The participating countries are Estonia, Germany, Spain, Austria, Sweden and Croatia.
In all participating countries there is contact with the national trade unions bodies and different gender equality units and NGOs on their participation. The Institute has the idea to combine research, networking and mutual learning to new approaches and the implementation of initiatives (e.g. in combination with the existing equal pay days).
