Description:
Equality Now is an international human rights organisation working to protect and promote the rights of women and girls around the world. The Fundraising Associate will be responsible for raising and sustaining funds to support Equality Now’s programmes. The Fundraising Associate will coordinate closely with the Director of Development and will report to the Director of the London Office.
Responsibilities:
Duties of the Fundraising Associate will include, but not be limited to:
- Developing a strategy to raise funds primarily in Europe for Equality Now’s programmes, including identifying new sources of funding
- writing and submitting grant applications and reports to funders and maintaining a planning diary in order properly to meet schedules
- initiating, coordinating, maintaining and strengthening organisational relationships with foundations and individual donors
- planning and coordinating special fundraising events
- exploring appropriate corporate giving possibilities and other related corporate outreach initiatives
- coordinating with the database manager for proper recording of all information and generating reports for management and the Board of Directors as required
Requirements:
The ideal candidate will have:
- Three to five years fundraising experience in a charity setting
- proven commitment to the field of international women’s rights and other related social justice issues
- strong writing and interpersonal skills and the ability to work well under pressure
- Spanish, French or Arabic language skills are desirable
- The post is for an initial period of one year, but it is hoped this will be extended. Probationary period: 6 months.
- Salary: £27,000 – £33,000 according to experience.
