As Brussels heats up with negotiations on the next Multiannual Financial Framework (MFF), over 150 civil society organisations, including the European Women’s Lobby, are stepping up to ensure that gender equality isn’t left out of the EU’s most powerful policy tool: its budget
A newly launched policy brief, prepared by the Kosovo Women’s Network, the Center for Research and Policy Making and the Gender Budget Watchdog Network, outlines three concrete recommendations to guide EU institutions towards a gender-responsive MFF:
✅ Include a clear target for financing gender equality
✅ Require gender-responsive budgeting in all EU-funded programmes
✅ Call for improved monitoring, evaluation, and transparency of results
👏 Thanks to our partners for their leadership
