Women of Europe Awards 2017
[Brussels, 10 November 2017] The Women of Europe Awards are organised by the European Movement International and the European Women’s Lobby, building upon the national awards of several National European Movement Councils. The awards are handed out annually to honour women striving to advance the European project in their professional or private capacity.
The role of women in the European project remains largely unrecognised, and the awards highlight the contribution of women in promoting and advancing European issues, and to increase the presence and involvement of women in debates about Europe and its future.

29 November 15:00 - 16:30 // Panel debate: Perspectives on diversity
With the Awards being handed over to the winners in the evening an afternoon debate on 29 November will allow for an in-depth discussion on the role of diversity in Europe’s future seen from different perspectives. While the discussion on Europe’s future is taking place all around the European Union, this event makes the case for an inclusive debate that engages all European citizens irrespective of their gender, age or cultural background.
