Mirta Baselovic is a Communications and Media at Coordinator at EWL. Her role is to develop communication actions supporting EWL’s advocacy and campaigning objectives, as well as members’ work across Europe.
Before joining EWL, Mirta was a trainee in the European Parliament, working with the Secretariat of the Committee on Women’s Rights and Gender Equality. She was also a Youth Ambassador for the WAVE Network’s StepUp! Campaign and a Focal Point for SDG5 with the United Nations Major Group for Children and Youth. Mirta’s areas of work included advocating for ending all forms of violence against women and girls, improving youth engagement in the topics relating to gender equality, and assisting in the preparation of legislation on discrimination in AI and cyberspaces.
Mirta is Croatian, but she spent six years living and studying in the US where she earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Communication and a Master’s degree in Global Policy at the University of Texas at Austin. As a former volleyball player, Mirta still enjoys sports and friendly competitions in her free time. The rest of Mirta’s time is occupied by her rescue spitz named Bella, who often joins her at the EWL office.
