AGORA Young Feminist Summer School is one of the European Women’s Lobby (EWL) flagship programmes that brings together young feminists from all over Europe to discuss and explore feminism and learn from each other. The programme is open to young women aged between 18 and 30 (at the time of the AGORA) who are keen to connect with other young feminists.
The 2024 AGORA took place from 9-13 September 2024 in Brussels at the Amazone multi-purpose center. Fourty women from all over Europe participated in an intensive five-day event strengthening their capacities as feminist change makers. The programme evolved through presentations, discussions, and participant-led workshops touching on various topics from feminist foreign policy to digital feminism, women in STEM and menstrual health. A study visit to the EU institutions based in Brussels was organised. The Summer School concluded with a discussion on AGORA Alumni Network and feedback from the participants with the view to their take on the event and suggestions for future AGORAs.
The event was an unequivocal success, epitomising the true essence of collegial spirit among participants from a myriad of backgrounds and various parts of the world. It was profoundly inspiring to witness such a diverse group of women come together, united by a shared purpose and vision.
Throughout the event, the atmosphere was charged with enthusiasm and a genuine desire to connect and collaborate. Participants engaged in meaningful discussions, shared their stories, and supported one another, creating a vibrant and inclusive community. This convergence of minds and hearts laid a robust foundation for
future networks and collaborations.
