Closing the gap: Women and climate, a planetary emergency
When: Thursday June 4 2026 – 9:30-17:00
Where: European Economic and Social Committee, Brussels
This event aims to present the outcomes of the Women in Climate project, a two-year initiative led by the European Women’s Lobby to promote the integration of a gender perspective into European climate policies. Through collaboration with partners across six EU countries, the project has brought together women’s voices, expertise, and lived experiences to contribute to a more inclusive and just climate transition.
This page features a selection of illustrations created during the final conference, highlighting key discussions, ideas, and recommendations that emerged throughout the project.
Drawing on surveys, webinars, and national events, EWL Recommendations on Women and Climate call for gender-responsive climate policies, inclusive decision-making processes, and stronger recognition of women’s leadership in climate action. They aim to support European institutions and policymakers in advancing a feminist approach to climate justice.
