EWL signs statement on the Very Alarming Trends in the Negotiations of Outcome Document of the 57th Session of the UN Commission on the Status of Women

Over 400 organisations and individuals endorsed a common statement

[Brussels, 15 March 2013] Grave concerns were shared by feminist and women’s organisations on the alarming trends in the negotiations on the outcome document of the 57th session of the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women. This statement was issued at the end of the second week of negotiations at CSW, while the final document was not yet delivered, and it shares the fears of many involved in the negotiations. The European Women’s Lobby endorsed it too.

Growing clamor of calls to dedicate 2015 as the year of eliminating violence against women

(Brussels, 13 March 2013) Calls for 2015 as the European Year to End Violence against Women grow as celebrations for international women’s day continue.
The Social Platform (of which the European Women’s Lobby is a member) demands that the European Commission show its concrete commitment to the eradication of violence against women and girls.

Turkish Connections Platform Raise Money to Support the European Women’s Lobby

[Brussels, 11 March 2013] On Thursday 7 March the Turkish Connections Platform hosted their kick-off event, raising money for the European Women’s Lobby (EWL) this International Women’s Day.
Special Recognition awards were presented during the evening, including the inaugural “Turkish Woman of the Year in Europe.”
