Oleksandra Domagalo - Membership and Governance Coordinator
Oleksandra Domagalo-Jacquemin is a Ukrainian-Belgian governance and communications specialist with a strong academic and professional background in European security, hybrid warfare, and gender equality advocacy. She holds a dual master’s degree from the Vrije Universiteit Brussel’s Institute for European Studies in European Environmental Governance and Law and European External Relations and Security Policy, which she pursued simultaneously. Her research includes two published works: "Hybrid Threats in Ukraine and Their Consequences for the EU," completed at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel, and "Decoding MH17: Russian Propaganda in the Era of Hybrid Warfare," published by Sofia University St. Kliment Ohridski. These studies highlight her expertise in disinformation, hybrid warfare, and European security challenges.
Currently, Oleksandra serves as the Membership and Governance Coordinator at the European Women’s Lobby, where she coordinates high-level governance processes to advance gender equality across Europe. Previously, she worked as a Digital Communications Assistant at the Circular Bio-based Europe Joint Undertaking (EU Agency), leading digital strategy, stakeholder engagement, and communications.
Beyond her institutional roles, she is the First Deputy Chairwoman of the Association of Ukrainian Women in Belgium, one of the world’s oldest Ukrainian women’s immigrant organisations. In this capacity, she has spearheaded advocacy, public relations, and fundraising efforts, significantly increasing the organisation’s visibility and impact.
Her career reflects a deep commitment to strategic communication, policymaking, and human rights advocacy, bridging academia, civil society, and European institutions. She is a native Ukrainian and Russian speaker, fluent in English, and has a working knowledge of French and Bulgarian. In her free time, Oleksandra enjoys dancing, travelling, and cooking. She is also raising a daughter and a cat - and dreams of one day having a golden retriever.
