New site brings dignity to victims of honour - violence

[Women News Network, Colorado, 27 June 2011] According to the United Nations and The International Campaign Against Honour Killing at least five thousand women and girls worldwide are murdered each year to preserve ‘family honour’. Many of these women are killed for making personal choices that don’t match the limits placed on them by their families and local society.

UN launches new mechanism for eliminating discrimination against women in law and practice

REPLACE FGM project reaching its final stage

The European Asylum Support Office now fully operational

Human Rights Council passes first-ever resolution on sexual orientation & gender identity

[Human Rights Council, Geneva, 17 June 2011] The United Nations Human Rights Council has passed a resolution on human rights violations based on sexual orientation and gender identity (L9/rev1).
